Chủ đề STUDY
PART 1
What’s the most difficult part of your study?
Well, I would say that it’s mostly the workload. I mean, students are constantly under a lot of pressure to complete their tasks by the deadline. Exams are simple, though, on the other hand. Because of their predictability, I have no difficulty conquering them.
PART 2
Describe a course you would like to study
You should say:
- What is this course (or, would be)?
- Where would you do it?
- What would you learn in that course?
- Explain why you would like to do this course.
While learning is a lifelong process, I think that enrolling in classes online or offline offers the best way to gain in-depth knowledge about a particular subject. Thus, marketing is a course I’d like to pursue in the future.
My primary area of interest is this field, which I would like to study at RMIT. Although it is based in Melbourne, Australia, this university also maintains a campus in Ho Chi Minh City. My profile would need to be worked on diligently for this course. In light of the university’s reputation, I would therefore need to put in more effort to succeed if I were to be admitted.
My goal for the marketing course is to focus mostly on consumer behavior. A wide spectrum of businesses are going online and putting a strong emphasis on social media as a part of the global digital revolution. For optimal success in my work, I will therefore benefit from taking a supplementary course on social media and digital marketing in addition to it.
There are several factors that make this course appealing to me. One major reason is that I find the world of advertising to be really fascinating, and as long as people have a capitalist perspective, this subject will undoubtedly be important.
PART 3
Should schools teach both arts and science?
Absolutely, since both the arts and sciences are significant, they should be taught in schools. The arts teach us how to fully appreciate life, while science and technology make our lives better. Thus, for an education to be well-rounded, both subjects are necessary.
Chủ đề WORK
PART 1
What do you dislike about your job?
I have to admit that I’m not a fan of the excessive workload. I mean, I have an extremely busy schedule, so deadlines are always hanging over my head. I have very little time to spend with my family and friends as a result. I may investigate a slightly less demanding profession in the future.
PART 2
Describe what you think would be the perfect job for you/What is your dream job?
You should say:
- What job it would be
- What you would do in this job
- And explain why you think this would be the perfect job for you
Despite having an old soul, I belong to the millennial generation and think it’s important to seize opportunities whenever they come. Hence, in terms of my career, the position of CEO or founder is what I truly want to have.
After years of developing my expertise, interacting with like-minded individuals, and consistently learning, I think I now possess the self-assurance necessary to run my own empire. In any case, confidence in oneself is the most beautiful quality. My dream job would be to lead a service-based company as CEO or founder. I’ve been studying the ins and outs of digital marketing for the last few years. Furthermore, a number of businesses are focusing on internet establishment, suggesting that this field has a promising future. I therefore want to own and operate a digital marketing agency.
I have a burning desire to establish a brand with my own perseverance and passion. I want to leave behind a legacy. I believe that the greatest method to do this is establishing relationships with both start-up and established businesses. In any case, I would be able to improve my abilities and skills to better serve them while doing this. In addition, I think I have the leadership abilities to manage a group that is expanding and succeeding.
PART 3
What are the main qualities of being a good leader?
I guess there are different ideas on what makes a successful leader. In my opinion, a leader is the one who has a significant impact on his followers and is someone who is trustworthy, wise, and motivating, possessing a forward-thinking outlook. Unquestionably, no one or any company wants to be led by someone who is conceited, incapable, or lacking in vision. To lead us to a better place, we all need people who take initiative and anticipate needs.
Chủ đề TRANSPORT
PART 1
What form of transport do you prefer to use? Why?
Without question, motorcycles are the first thing that comes to mind. In my nation, motorcyclists are visible everywhere you look. The majority of people ride motorcycles. Motorcycles are very popular since they are convenient and reasonably priced. There are a lot of options available to everyone because they are also very diversified in terms of size, color, and quality.
PART 2
Describe a bicycle/motorbike/car trip that is interesting
You should say:
- Where you would like to go
- How you would like to go there
- Who you would like to go with
- And explain why you would like to go there by car, motorbike or bike
When I live in Viet Nam, there is one issue that bothers me the most of the time. It’s that most people choose to ride motorcycles over automobiles. Because of this, most people—including myself—don’t know how to drive, which bothers me since I’ve always wanted to go on a road trip across the nation. It would be difficult and exciting to take a road journey by car from my country’s south to its north because there are countless amazing places that have yet to be discovered. But rather than regretting it later in life, it is better to take chances and get out of your comfort zone to fully experience life while your legs are still able to carry you.
“If you wanna go fast, go alone. If you wanna go far, go together.” If you were a lone traveler who disliked falling behind schedule, it might be enjoyable. Even yet, having company can make the experience more colorful and unexpected—hopefully in a positive way—especially on a lengthy trip like the one I like. So, my decision would be to choose one or more close friends that have the same vision and desire to capture the beauty of nature.
We would leave from our home in the south and go north, stopping at our favorite beaches for a bit longer than usual because nobody has time for juicy coconuts and a paradise of white sand. When we travel to a new place, we should make it a point to consume the local food because that’s the best way to experience local culture. The greatest option for us would be a car since it would provide us with enough space to talk comfortably and, if needed, shelter from bad weather while traveling. At the end of the day, what matters are the people, not the locations. I would also love to spend that time with my dear friends, sharing the same space in a four-wheel drive along the road.
PART 3
Which method of travel do you consider the safest? Why?
Air travel is, in my opinion, the safest mode of transportation, despite certain widespread myths. We travel both domestically and internationally frequently, and the service is absolutely good. Air travel is known to be risky due to the frequent media coverage of aviation accidents, which are fatal and cost many lives. Nonetheless, it is evident that air travel is the safest when comparing fatalities from aircraft crashes with those from automobile crashes. In my country, flying is the safest mode of transportation since flights are well-planned and air traffic is managed by skilled experts in a more effective manner.
Chủ đề FILM / MOVIE
PART 1
Do you like to watch films?
Of course! They are a great way to relax and clear your head. In addition, watching movies together is a pleasant and easy way to spend time with my friends. After that, we talked about and argued about the movie we just saw. In addition to unwinding and taking pleasure in the movie, I want to explore further to uncover any hidden meanings.
PART 2
Film/movie that you watched and did not enjoy.
You may say
- Name of the movie
- Why I didn’t enjoy
- What is the impact
I watched a really low-rated movie on Netflix last week. I was willing to see the movie TvsF as a nighttime show. Sadly, the movie’s content and material fell short of what the viewer would find enjoyable.
When I watch a movie, I pay close attention to the narrative, characters, and visuals. The narrative of the film wasn’t all that embarrassing. A film ought to be inspirational and ought to capture our culture and everyday existence. Certain movies are beyond imagination and boundaries, providing joy solely by watching. However, this film lacked originality and featured just slang between two couples’ comedic exchanges. From the beginning until the end of the film, there were a lot of actions. IMDb and the movie comment box did not give the movie a positive evaluation because of its climactic sequence. I was also unable to derive any meaning or insight from the film’s plot. The second half of the movie was too exhausting for me to watch. With its simple dialogue and repetitive activities, the story lacked a compelling narrative and was monotonous.
But I reasoned that I ought to view some awful films as well. In my opinion, seeing movies is essential for both enjoyment and learning how to tell good ones from terrible ones.
PART 3
What is the difference between young people and old people’s favorite TV dramas? Why?
I think there isn’t much of a difference in TV drama preferences between younger and older audiences. Young adults prefer action-packed or supernaturally themed films, such as science fiction, thrillers, comedies, or superhero movies. These include some of the top-rated TV drama shows of today, such as Supernatural, The Walking Dead, and Games of Thrones. On the other hand, shows with deeper themes or meanings are more appreciated by older audiences than those with purely visual effects. They enjoy sitcoms and dramas that are suitable for the whole family. There are, nevertheless, certain exceptions.
Chủ đề FAMILY
PART 1
Who are you close to in your family?
My mother is the one in my family who I am closest to. She is, quite frankly, the most loving person I have ever met. She’s someone I feel comfortable talking to about my ideas and getting opinions from. My mother serves as both my closest friend and a wonderful role model for many facets of life.
PART 2
Describe an old person you admire/Describe an old person you know and respect
You should say:
- Who is this person?
- How long have you known him/her?
- What qualities does he/she have?
I respect the struggles the older generation faced in order to support themselves. They have never had access to such a wide variety of resources as the millennial generation has. Nevertheless, they found a way to survive on their own. Therefore, my maternal grandfather would be the elderly person I would most like to discuss.
I’ve known him practically since the day I opened my eyes. But I’ve only now come to fully understand him. My grandfather and I have been close all of my childhood. There are a lot of memories that are priceless, from him sharing stories with me to seeing life from an entirely new angle.
In terms of distinguishing traits, he has always been an incredibly diligent individual. When he was a teenager, his parents passed away. After the partition, he was forced to flee his home and life in Pakistan and start over in India. Not one of his siblings helped him. And he was left to stand up for himself in life.
He started working odd jobs to make ends meet after learning mechanical skills on his own. His never-give-up attitude baffles me no end, no matter what the situation. In addition, he has a unique kind of affection for his family compared to most people these days.
PART 3
What role do grandparents have in the family in your country?
As they say, “Being a grandparent is like being a parent twice,” and I think it describes the oldest members of most Vietnamese families rather well. The three-generation model, in which grandparents play a large role as co-caregivers, is still prevalent in most Vietnamese households, despite various alterations. They would, for instance, take care of the kids while the parents are at work. Grandparents are also able to provide everyone else with flawless moral support.
Chủ đề HEALTH
PART 1
Do you have any unhealthy habits?
Everyone, like myself, is addicted to a habit that they are working to break. My priorities at work dictate that I get home by eight o’clock. I choose to eat out or go to bed with an empty stomach because I’m too lazy to cook.
PART 2
Describe a time when you were ill.
You should say :
- When was this?
- What were your symptoms?
- How long did the illness last?
- And say how it affected your life at the time.
It was pretty alarming when I was infected with the coronavirus during the first several weeks of the lockdown. Not only was it an entirely unknown condition, but I was left without any support or care because of the travel ban and quarantine time placed on individuals who were afflicted.
I started coughing uncontrollably and felt like I had a cold. I would get chills and a fever, and the temperature would get worse at night. I was so tired that even if I had a hot shower to get rid of the chills, my legs would still be shaking so I would have to rest for fifteen minutes before I could do anything else.
I lost my sense of smell and suffered from headaches and sore throat for the first three days. Then I was hardly able to move for a whole week. In addition, I had a fever, sinus and chest congestion, persistent fatigue, and appetite loss. I would only wake up to take a sip of water and use the restroom over the majority of the day. After three weeks, I was finally allowed to leave the quarantine, but I was still experiencing brain fog—a total inability to focus on anything—and it took me a while to recover.
The fact that the symptoms weren’t constant was the most peculiar feature. One day it would be really awful, the next I would feel mostly normal, and then it would come back with a new and unexpected symptom. It’s an uncommon illness that has no known cause. Never would I wish that upon anyone. I’m happy to have had the immunization at last.
PART 3
Do you think people pay enough attention to their health today?
No, I don’t believe that. The majority of individuals today lead sedentary lifestyles and don’t have enough time for self-care. They rarely work out and don’t focus on their food. However, there are some self-conscious individuals who are concerned about their health and who seek to maintain their health by a balanced diet and regular exercise.
Chủ đề TRAVEL
PART 1
Do you often go traveling?
Naturally, I love to travel, and I’ve always wanted to see some of the tourist attractions outside of the cities in Vietnam. Since I adore beaches, I’m hoping to visit a coastal city this summer.
PART 2
Describe a foreign country you would like to go to (A country you have not been to yet)
You should say:
- what country it is (including where it is in the world)
- what this country is like
- what people can do in this country
- and explain why you would like to go to this country
People all throughout the world have a passion for travel. A significant portion of the population visits interesting new locations on several occasions each year. There are a few places that I would like to see at least once in my lifetime, even if I am not as attracted to travel as some of my friends are.
The East Asian nation of Japan is one such example. Japan is one of the world’s most stunning and modern countries, if not the most developed. It is well-known for its customs, culture, and numerous World Heritage Sites. Another well-known trait of Japan is its public service system which serves as an example for the rest of the world, and the government there places a high priority on the welfare of its population.
I plan to involve myself in a variety of activities that visitors often engage in while in the nation. From touring historical places to indulging in mouthwatering Japanese cuisine, which is known across the globe. Some food products, including sushi, ramen, and udon, are so popular that almost every nation seeks to imitate these meals. Japan is internationally recognized for its folk music and shamisen and koto instruments. Classic examples of Japanese architecture are the Shrines of Ise and the Ritsurin Garden. Japanese architecture is also a major tourist attraction.
Japan’s diverse food and cuisines are a major factor in my desire to visit. One of the first things on my culinary bucket list is Japanese cuisine as I enjoy trying out new kinds of food. In addition, I would like to spend a few days in Japan’s cities and see further facets of Japanese culture.
PART 3
Do you think it’s true that travel broadens the mind?
Yes, I do. I would prefer not to make fun of those who haven’t traveled because, most of the time, it’s because they haven’t had the opportunity. I doubt that any of the generations that my great-grandparents belonged to ever traveled. However, I can’t help but believe that it does help you become a more tolerant person since it opens your eyes to other people’s lifestyles, eating and drinking habits, and social interactions. It also helps you see your own culture more critically. Additionally, it broadens your experiences and enhances your attractiveness.
Chủ đề ROBOT
PART 1
Would you want a robot to work in your home?
We are living in a technological age. Thus, I utilize robots to complete all of my jobs, and I hope to use the newest models of machines in the future.
PART 2
Describe a robot you really like
You should say
What type of robot is it?
When and Where do you see it?
What can the robot do?
Why do you like it?
As we live in a digital age, more and more people are using robotic and artificial intelligence (AI) devices, and I have a strong curiosity about them.
I would like to use this occasion to discuss a robot that I saw at a restaurant last year. During the COVID pandemic, there were regulations in place that most of the businesses had to shut down. For a considerable amount of time after they reopened, hotels and restaurants had to provide contactless services.
At this specific time, a restaurant in my city gained a lot of popularity and hired a robot to serve customers
After a 20 minute road trip, we finally arrived at the location and then were escorted by a giant man-sized robot that had a robotic voice upon our arrival. Placing the order was a unique experience because we could see everything on the menu and did it with voice control. The robot instantly confirmed the order and in about 15 minutes, the food was ready. The robot returned with the food and placed it on the table, just like a human waiter would. The robot carried an additional sanitizer to let the guests disinfect their hands before and after the meal, which is a unique feature. We had an amazing meal experience here, and to commemorate our trip, we snapped a selfie with this robot that the restaurant named Jack.
PART 3
Will robots replace human beings in the workplace completely?
Automation is pushing out human labor in the workplace these days, particularly in manufacturing. Machines are capable of performing labor-intensive jobs accurately and with ease. Still, there are always things that call for a human hand’s delicate touch. A blouse crafted by hand, for instance, is usually more soulful than one made by a machine.
Chủ đề CELEBRITIES
PART 1
Are international superstars popular in your country?
Definitely! Stars are particularly idolized by preteens and teens, as I have observed. For instance, youngsters are obsessed with these musicians because Kpop has spread like wildfire. In addition, people in my nation are huge fans of soccer, so they keep an eye on well-known players like Ronaldo and Messi.
PART 2
Describe a person on the news that you’d like to meet
You should say:
Who is this person?
Where do you know him/her?
What does he/she look like?
And explain why want to meet him/her
I would like to meet Bill Gates, Microsoft’s co-founder and one of the world’s wealthiest individuals.
I saw him briefly while watching the TV news, where he was talking about his outstanding career. I was enthralled with him right away due to his motivational speech, as well as his expressive and charismatic facial expressions. I looked up his name on Google after that, and the more information I found, the more I wanted to really meet him.
First off, it’s obvious that Bill Gates is a very gifted and ambitious man because he wouldn’t have founded Microsoft and achieved such great success without it. Microsoft was founded in a garage in 1975, the fact that it was right after he just dropped out of college. His skill, aspiration, tenacity, and commitment made Microsoft one of the biggest computer firms.
His kindness is also a thing that I admire. He has a warm heart and is very charitable. He has been a philanthropist for many years, giving up his money to support the less fortunate and making investments in the advancement of technology and education. Additionally, he consistently motivates others through his speeches to keep going after their dreams and find great success.
No one can inspire me as much as Bill Gates, thus I hope to meet him at some point in my life. If I truly have the honor of meeting him, I would request an autograph, or a photo, and express my gratitude for what he has accomplished for the world.
PART 3
Are stories about celebrities in the news always true?
As they say, without fire, there is no smoke. In my opinion, news reports frequently have true tales as their basis. Nonetheless, in order to make them more appealing to the public, the media frequently sensationalizes or exaggerates them.
Chủ đề LEISURE TIME
PART 1
What do you do in your spare time?
It depends on how much free time I have. Until a few weeks ago, I would usually spend my lunch breaks or evenings reading a light novel. However, these days, I’m so busy with work that all I want is to sleep, so I spend all of my free time napping.
PART 2
Talk about one of your leisure activities. You should say:
What is it?
How often do you do it?
Where do you do it?
And explain why you like to do it.
Alright, so let me share with you a hobby of mine that I really enjoy. That is hitting the gym. After persistent pestering from all of my buddies, gymming is a part of my life now.
Sincerely, I am happy to say that I have never missed a day at the gym. I mean, I go there every day after work, except on Sundays, when I need to take a nap to give my muscles time to heal. If my schedule is tight, I usually spend about one hour a day, but when I am overwhelmed with deadlines and assignments, I just stay for the warm-up or the brief aerobic exercises for half an hour before leaving.
My office is only ten minutes away from the gym. You know, this is the perfect distance so that I can maximize my time at the gym without having to fight through traffic.
I truly enjoy spending my time in the gym since I need to do something to relax after work. It bothers me when I am overworked and stressed out. After a tough day, going to the gym is a terrific way for me to let all of my bad emotions out. Not only that but since I started going to the gym every day, I have made a lot of new acquaintances who also share the same cup of tea. To sum up, those are the reasons I think going to the gym is my favorite activity, and I hope that I will continue to be passionate about it for a very long time.
PART 3
How does technology affect the way people spend their leisure time?
I believe it has had a significant influence on how we amuse. The only indoor activities available to individuals back then were reading, dancing, and music. There weren’t many more options. People now have an infinite number of indoor activities to choose from thanks to technological advancements like video games, social networks, TVs, Netflix, etc., which makes them less active and more passive when it comes to having fun.
